Baruch College Ranks Among Nation's Best Colleges
Dear Prospective Students,
As we start of the new school year, I am proud to report that Baruch College has garnered several recent national rankings for its top quality education and campus offerings. Over the summer, the Princeton Review named the College one of the best for undergraduate education — placing us in the top 15% of U.S. colleges. Also over the summer, Forbes Magazine chose Baruch as a "Best College Buy" and, for the first time, ranked the Zicklin School of Business among the “Best Business Schools” at #50th on the national list.
The good news continued in September:
U.S. News & World Report named Baruch College the #3 Top Public University in the North, up from last year's #4 spot. Baruch is also #21 for "Top Regional Universities," our highest position ever. U.S. News also recognized the Zicklin School of Business as a Top 100 Best Business Program. Importantly, Baruch also occupies the #3 spot in Campus Ethnic Diversity, reflective of our service to the students of New York City.
In company with Carnegie Melon, Princeton, Columbia and NYU, Baruch's Master's in Financial Engineering (MFE) program ranked #5 in QuantNet's 2011 review of MFE's in North America. This is an improved ranking for the College's program, up from #6-10 in 2009. Who filled our old #6 spot? Stanford University did.
The Princeton Review and Entrepreneurship Magazine named Baruch's undergraduate entrepreneurship program in the Lawrence N. Field Center for Entrepreneurship one of the top 25 in the country out of 2,000 schools surveyed. Coming in at #22, the program was included for the fourth year in a row.
We also received another very important recognition earlier this year — one about which we as a College are most proud. The Education Trust, an education advocacy group, identified Baruch as one of only five four-year colleges offering an affordable and accessible education to low-income students. It's critical to note that Baruch also has the highest graduation rate (60.3%) and the highest Pell-enrollment (44%) of the five schools.
These impressive rankings are a testament to the dedication of our faculty, staff, and students to continuous improvement and the goal of academic excellence. I offer my sincere thanks and appreciation to one and all for the hard work.
