Raygoza Nets Match Winner in Conference Opener

Quincy, CA - Leslie Raygoza (Fallon, NV) found the back of the net off of a cross from Sherifatu, Sumaila (Tamale, Ghana) in the 33rd minute when she headed the ball home at the back post.
For the rest of the match it would be a very physical midfield battle with neither team creating a lot of dangerous chances, but at the end of the day it would be the Golden Eagles Defence headed up by Center back Grace Holland (Park City, UT) and Goalkeeper Stacey Cavill (Perth, Australia) that would keep the Lassen attack under control.
Next up for the FRC women, a trip up to Ereka, CA to take on College of the Redwoods on Friday.

With one of the strongest starts in the last few years the Feather River College Lady Eagles soccer team was looking forward to conference play, but they have had a slow start in their first 3 matches. After having outshot Butte 21-9 but losing 2-1 and after dominating possession vs. Shasta College but drawing 0-0, the FRC women were looking forward to their first conference win v Lassen on Friday.

The Lady Cougars came out with a slow start and despite being outshot by the FRC women 12-1 were able to find the game winning goal in the 69th minute off of a free kick that a Lassen forward was able to latch on to and slot past FRC keeper Korey Cline. FRC just could not find the goal they needed for the second match in a row an so they are now 0-2-1 in conference play.
