Athletics have an important role in the educational mission of SUNY Cortland. Cortland’s athletic program placed 10th nationally in the 2011-12 Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup Division III standings. Cortland is one of only five nationwide to finish in the top 20 each of the last 17 years.
