    The Finlandia University men's soccer team has received commitments from 10 additional student athletes to play for the university's NCAA Division III soccer team next season. The group includes student athletes from nine states. This is the second set of recruits that coach Brent Chase has announced this summer.

    "This second wave of recruits solidifies the 2015 incoming freshman class as one of the best we have seen in regards to all-around student athletes," Chase said. "These young men are all creative and technical soccer players that have shown significant success in the classroom as well. "The expectations are high for these young men, and I believe they will make Finlandia proud." This will be the program's second season under Chase. In his first season, Chase led the team to its winningest season in program history.

    Finlandia men's soccer coach Brent Chase is excited to announce seven recruits who have committed to attend Finlandia University and play soccer for the university's NCAA Division III team beginning next fall.

    "Last year was a big step in building this program," said Chase, who coached the team to a program record six wins. "The 2014 recruiting class had more talent than any previous year, and the 2015 recruits should be even better."

    The list of recruits includes players from six states, with a wide variety of accolades including all-conference honors, state championships and school records.

    "We are bringing in players that understand what it takes to be successful, and are technically and athletically capable of positively impacting the team as freshman," Chase said. "These young men are just a glimpse at the overall recruiting class, and more talent is expected to commit over the next month or two."

    Finlandia Men's Soccer Players Earn WIAC Honors

    Madison, WI - The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) announced its All-Conference award winners yesterday. Finlandia Men's soccer landed more players on this prestigious list than ever before with a total of five award winners. This years All-Conference winners were Brandon Roeske (Marysville, MI), Saul Ibarra (Riverside, CA), Christian Martinez (San Bernardino, CA), and Jaime Cuevas (San Bernardino, CA). Cory Gardner (Marysville, MI) also took home the All-Sportsmanship Award.

    These lions also topped the list in a few other categories. Saul Ibarra led the conference in points(1st), points per game Avg(1st), goals(1st), goals per game average(1st), game winning goals(2nd), assists per game(2nd), and assists(6th).

    Christian Martinez also put up some impressive numbers making the top of the conference lists in the following categories; assists per game(4th), points per game(5th), assists(6th), goals per game(8th), and goals(10th).

    Brandon Roeske is the final Lion to make a statement by leading the conference in total saves(1st) and saves per game Avg(1st).

    We would like to congratulate all of the members of the Lions Men's Soccer Team for their efforts and successes this season.
